Understanding Watches Course
WhilstÂ the jewellery valuation event was in full swing, we also had on at the same time the Understanding Watches course, which proved to be a successful dayÂ for all of our delegates.
This hands-on course is intended for retail staff or enthusiasts who already have some experience of watches. The one day course will provide an understanding of the technical aspects and benefits of different types of watches, improving confidence when selling. It will also teach basic practical skills which will enable delegates to diagnose possible faults and carry out maintenance repairs. The course gives each delegate a chance to handle and study watches closely, and disassemble items using standard basic tools. It also includes a rare opportunity to visit the Hallmarking Operation atÂ Assay Office Birmingham, which is not usually open to the public. The course provides six hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity.
